Is countertop wax the same as a concrete sealer?

No. Wax is a renewable, lower-build protective finish. It does not provide the same stain, acid, water, abrasion or heat resistance as a film-forming countertop coating.

Why would I choose wax instead of epoxy?

Wax is suited to customers who prefer a natural-looking, beeswax-based finish and are comfortable wiping spills promptly and renewing the finish periodically. Epoxy or another resinous coating generally provides greater protection.

Can wax prevent staining from coffee, wine or citrus?

Wax provides limited protection but cannot prevent every stain or etch mark. Acidic and strongly colored spills should be wiped up immediately.

Can I place hot pans directly on the waxed surface?

No. Use a trivet or heat-resistant pad. Heat can soften or damage wax and may affect the concrete beneath it.

How often should countertop wax be reapplied?

There is no fixed schedule for every countertop. Reapply when frequently used areas begin to look dry, dull, uneven or less water resistant.

Is the wax approved for food-contact surfaces?

Review the current product label and technical information for its intended use and required cure or set time. Do not make food-contact assumptions based only on the presence of beeswax.

Can I apply wax over another sealer or coating?

Only apply it over a compatible, clean and fully cured finish. Test first and follow the product instructions because wax may not bond evenly to every coating.
