Build Your Exterior Concrete Project

Calculate It. Choose It. Add It All to Cart.

Enter your project size, choose your stain color, select the finish you want and we’ll build an estimated exterior concrete shopping list.

1

Enter Your Project Size

Measure the length and width of your patio, pool deck, walkway, driveway or other exterior concrete surface.

Project area 0 sq. ft.
2

Prepare Your Concrete

Proper exterior preparation is essential for good stain penetration and long-lasting sealer performance.

Included with every project:
  • CR-765 Surface Prep & Etch
  • CR-580 Degreaser
  • CR-585 Surface Neutralizer

These three surface-preparation products are automatically added to every exterior project shopping list.

3

Choose Your Stain + Color

Select your stain system first, then choose the exact color you want added to your project.

RAC develops naturally varied color unique to each concrete surface. TSC requires acetone purchased locally.

4

Choose Your Exterior Finish

Outside Acrylic is our standard sealer for exterior stained concrete. Choose your preferred finished appearance below.

Matte Additive is added to the second coat of Outside Acrylic. Nature's Essence is offered here only for RAC acid-stained concrete when you want the acid-stain color enriched without making the surface look topically sealed.

5

Add Slip Resistance

Non-Skid can be added when additional surface grip is desired, especially on wet or potentially slippery exterior areas.

Non-Skid is intended for the Outside Acrylic system. Nature's Essence is a penetrating sealer that maintains the natural surface texture.

6

Choose Stain Application Tools

Select the sprayer you want included for applying your stain.

The ReCharger is not recommended for RAC. If Recommended is selected, VersaStain is chosen for WRC/RAC and ReCharger for TSC.

7

Choose Sealer Application Tools

Add roller tools for your exterior sealer application.

Outside Acrylic can be applied by sprayer or roller. When rolling, work into a wet edge and avoid excessive back rolling.

Exterior System Recommendation
CR-765 Prep & Etch, CR-580 Degreaser and CR-585 Neutralizer are included with every project. Outside Acrylic is the standard protective sealer for WRC, RAC and TSC exterior stained concrete.
Coverage is an estimate and varies with concrete porosity, texture, condition, dilution, application technique and number of coats. Review each product's current Technical Data Sheet before use. Prep products are added as one unit each; adjust quantities in the cart for unusually large or demanding projects.
Need Help Choosing?

Which Exterior Sealer Is Right for Your Concrete?

Choose your exterior sealer based on whether your concrete is stained, the finished appearance you want and the type of protection your surface needs.

Best for Stained Concrete

Outside Acrylic

Exterior Topical Sealer

Our standard recommendation for exterior stained concrete. Outside Acrylic enhances stain color while providing a protective topical finish.

Recommended over WRC, RAC & TSC stained concrete.
  • Enhances stain color and variation
  • Protective topical exterior finish
  • Standard choice for stained patios, pool decks and walkways
Lower Sheen

Matte Acrylic

Outside Acrylic + Matte Additive

Want the protection of Outside Acrylic without as much shine? Add Matte Additive to the second coat to reduce the finished sheen.

Same Outside Acrylic system — Matte Additive is used in the second coat.
  • For WRC, RAC & TSC stained concrete
  • Lower-sheen finished appearance
  • Keeps the protection of the Outside Acrylic system
Natural Look + RAC

Nature's Essence

Natural Matte Penetrating Sealer

Choose Nature's Essence when you have RAC acid-stained concrete and want to enrich the acid-stain color while keeping a more natural, non-topical appearance.

For RAC Reactive Acid Stain only when used with Concrete Resurrection stains.
  • Enhances RAC acid-stain color
  • Natural matte appearance
  • Does not create the look of a topical sealer
Unstained Concrete Only

Weather Dance

Penetrating Water Repellent

Weather Dance is designed for natural exterior concrete where you want water repellency without creating a topical film or noticeably changing the surface appearance.

Not for stained concrete.
  • For natural, unstained concrete
  • Penetrating water repellency
  • Maintains a natural concrete appearance

Quick Sealer Guide

Using WRC or TSC? Choose Outside Acrylic. Add Matte Additive to the second coat if you prefer a lower-sheen finish.
Using RAC Acid Stain? Choose Outside Acrylic for a topical sealed appearance, or Nature's Essence for a natural matte appearance with enhanced acid-stain color.
No Stain? Weather Dance is an option for natural, unstained exterior concrete when penetrating water repellency is desired.

Want Additional Slip Resistance?

Add Non-Skid to your Outside Acrylic system when additional surface grip is desired. This can be especially useful on pool decks, patios, steps and other exterior surfaces that may become wet.

Optional with Outside Acrylic
How to Stain

Exterior Concrete

Transform patios, pool decks, walkways and other exterior concrete with color and protection. Follow these basic steps for a beautiful, long-lasting finish.

1

Prepare

Start with clean, porous concrete.

Preparing exterior concrete before staining

Thoroughly clean the concrete and remove dirt, grease, contaminants and anything that could prevent the stain from penetrating. The surface must be clean and porous before staining.

Recommended prep: CR-580 Degreaser + CR-765 Surface Prep & Etch + CR-585 Surface Neutralizer
2

Apply Stain

Add the color and character you want.

Concrete stain being applied to an exterior concrete surface

Apply WRC, RAC or TSC according to the product's Technical Data Sheet. Apply evenly and avoid puddling. Application methods, dilution and coat recommendations vary by stain system.

WRC and TSC can be diluted for a softer, more translucent look. RAC develops unique natural variation on every surface.
3

Dry & Clean

Complete the stain process before sealing.

Exterior stained concrete drying before sealer application

Allow the stain to fully dry or complete its reaction before sealing. Follow the specific cleanup requirements for the stain you selected and make sure the concrete is clean and ready for sealer.

RAC must be neutralized and reaction residue thoroughly removed before sealing.
4

Seal

Protect and finish your exterior concrete.

Exterior concrete sealer being applied to stained concrete

For most WRC, RAC and TSC exterior stained projects, finish with Outside Acrylic to enhance the color and provide a protective topical sealer.

Want less sheen? Add Matte Additive to the second coat of Outside Acrylic. For RAC only, Nature's Essence is an option when you want enriched color without a topical sealed appearance.
