RAC Reactive Acid Chemical Stain

RAC Reactive Acid Chemical Stain chemically reacts with minerals in cured concrete to create rich, variegated color that becomes part of the surface.
Rather than producing a uniform painted appearance, RAC creates natural movement, mottling, and tonal variation reminiscent of stone, leather, or aged concrete. Because every slab is different, every RAC project develops its own unique character.

Application Overview

Prepare the Surface
Concrete should be clean and porous enough to readily absorb water. -
Apply the Stain
Apply RAC evenly and heavily enough to saturate the concrete without excessive puddling. For a lighter effect, RAC may be diluted with up to 4 parts water. -
Allow the Reaction to Develop
Allow approximately 4β5 hours for the reaction and full color development. The residue visible during this stage is not the final finished color. -
Neutralize & Rinse
Thoroughly wash and neutralize the surface to remove residue and halt the chemical reaction. -
Seal the Surface
Once fully dry, apply a compatible concrete sealer to enhance and protect the finish.

WRC Water Reducible Concentrate Stain
Reliable color with greater control
Water Reducible Concentrate (WRC) Stain is a high-performance, pigmented, water-based concrete stain formulated for strong adhesion and vibrant, long-lasting color on properly prepared porous concrete.
Unlike reactive acid stain, WRC provides greater control over the finished color. Use individual shades, layer multiple coats for added depth, or blend colors together to create custom combinations.

Application Overview

Prepare the Surface
Concrete should be thoroughly clean and porous. Water should absorb easily, and the surface should feel similar to approximately 120-grit sandpaper. -
Adjust Transparency
WRC must be diluted with a minimum of 4 parts water and may be diluted with up to 8 parts water for a lighter, more translucent finish. -
Apply the Stain
Application methods may include an HVLP sprayer, pump-up sprayer, cotton rag, foam or bristle brush, roller, or microfiber mop. Different methods can create different visual effects. -
Dry & Seal
Allow the stain to dry completely before applying a compatible concrete sealer.

TSC & AE Concrete Dyes
Fast color with maximum creative flexibility
Ten Second Colorβ’ (TSC) and Active Elements Speed Color (AE) are premium penetrating dyes designed for rapid, vibrant coloration of concrete and other cementitious surfaces.
These high-performance acetone-based dyes create rich, translucent, mottled effects similar to acid stain without the extended chemical reaction time. Colors can be blended or layered for custom, multi-tone finishes.

Prepare the Surface
Concrete must be clean, dry, and porous. Water should readily absorb into the surface. -
Mix & Apply
Mix the dye with the appropriate amount of acetone. A cone-tip pump sprayer compatible with acetone is recommended. Brushes, rollers, or suitable HVLP equipment may also be used depending on the desired effect. -
Work Carefully
These dyes dry rapidly, so maintain a consistent application technique to avoid unwanted application marks. -
Dry & Seal
Allow the dyed surface to dry completely, then apply a compatible concrete sealer to protect the color and enhance durability.

The Most Important Step: Prepare Your Concrete
No stain can compensate for improperly prepared concrete. Before applying any stain or dye, the surface must be clean, free of contaminants, and sufficiently porous to accept the product.
Existing coatings, sealers, curing compounds, oils, adhesives, and other contaminants may interfere with penetration and cause inconsistent results.
Always review the product's Technical Data Sheet and complete application instructions before beginning your project. Whenever possible, test the product in a small, inconspicuous area first.
