CR-585 Surface Neutralizer - pH Rinse for Acid-Stained Concrete (Post-RAC Treatment)
Concrete Resurrection CR‑585 Surface Neutralizer – Professional pH Rinse for Acid‑Stained Concrete
Restore proper pH and prepare your concrete for flawless staining and sealing results with Concrete Resurrection CR‑585 Surface Neutralizer. This advanced, non‑sudsing formula is engineered to work hand‑in‑hand with CR‑765 Surface Prep & Etch and is the essential final rinse after applying RAC (Reactive Acid Chemical) Stain.
CR‑585 uses a powerful blend of ammonium hydroxide and proprietary performance boosters to raise the pH of concrete surfaces. This step is critical for ensuring stains develop correctly and sealers bond tightly—helping you achieve rich color, long‑lasting durability, and professional‑grade results.
✔ Key Benefits
-
Neutralizes Acid Residue after RAC stain or etching
-
Restores Proper pH for optimal stain and sealer adhesion
-
Non‑Suds Formula for easy rinsing and no residue
-
Professional Strength for contractors, DIYers, and decorative concrete artists
-
Improves Color Performance and long‑term coating durability
🧪 How It Works
Acid stains and etching solutions lower the concrete’s pH. If the surface isn’t neutralized, sealers may fail to bond, colors may appear dull, and long‑term durability can be compromised. CR‑585 raises the pH back to a safe, balanced level, ensuring the surface is ready for sealing or additional treatment.

When do I need to use CR-585 Surface Neutralizer?
You need to use Concrete Resurrection CR-585 Surface Neutralizer anytime an acidic product has been used on the concrete. The neutralizer helps bring the surface pH back into balance so the concrete is properly prepared for the next step.
Use CR-585 Surface Neutralizer after:
- CR-765 Surface Prep & Etch – If you acid etch the concrete during surface preparation, neutralize the floor before moving on to staining, sealing, or coating.
- RAC Reactive Acid Chemical Stain – After the acid stain has finished reacting, the concrete must be neutralized and thoroughly cleaned before applying your sealer.
You generally do not need Surface Neutralizer if the concrete was prepared without an acidic product, such as by diamond grinding or other mechanical preparation.
Mix 8 oz of CR-585 Surface Neutralizer with 5 gallons of clean water.
Apply the diluted solution evenly over the concrete and scrub it into the surface with a stiff-bristle broom or brush. Then rinse thoroughly with clean water and remove all residue.
For RAC stained concrete, be especially thorough with the cleaning and rinsing process. The floor should be free of stain residue and completely dry before applying your sealer.
DIY Tip: An easy rule to remember is:
If you used acid on the concrete, neutralize it before moving on to the next step.
